Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Find quick answers to common questions about Fami Hero configurations, limits, and monitoring behaviors.

❓ 1. Device Setup & Pairing

Q: Can my child uninstall the Fami Hero Kids app to bypass restrictions?

  • Answer: No. Fami Hero utilizes both Accessibility Services and Device Administrator privileges on Android. If a child attempts to uninstall the app or clear its cache in System Settings, Fami Hero instantly blocks the attempt, locks the settings screen, and sends a critical push notification to the parent's phone.

Q: Can I pair multiple parent devices to monitor the same child?

  • Answer: Yes. You can log into the Fami Hero Parent App on multiple devices (e.g., both Mother's and Father's phones) using the same account email and password to coordinate monitoring and rules.

❓ 2. Limits & App Blocking

Q: Does Fami Hero require an active internet connection to enforce active screen limits?

  • Answer: No. Once a screen cap, bedtime curfew, or app block rule is saved on the Parent App, it is synced and saved directly onto the child's local device storage. If the child goes offline, the Fami Hero Kids app will continue to enforce the active daily limits and schedules perfectly.

Q: What happens if a child requests more time while the child's device is offline?

  • Answer: The child's device must be online to submit the extra time request to the server. If the child is offline, tapping Request More Time will display a warning: "Offline. Check network connection to submit request."

❓ 3. Location & Safety

Q: Why is my child's location tracking inaccurate or showing an old coordinate?

  • Answer: This is usually due to one of three reasons:
    1. The child's device is turned off or has no internet connection.
    2. GPS location accuracy is set to "Low" in the child's phone settings.
    3. The child's phone has entered extreme battery saver mode, which paused background GPS tasks. See Battery Optimizations to configure exclusions.

Q: What is the SOS button and how does it alert parents?

  • Answer: The SOS button is a distress panic control. When the child holds it for 3 seconds, a high-priority alert is sent, bypassing silent mode on the parent's phone to play a continuous alarm sound and streaming live coordinates every 5 seconds.

❓ 4. Administrative Features

Q: How do administrators Suspend or Suspense a user account?

  • Answer: Go to the User Directory under /users in the Web Admin Portal. Search for the account email, tap the profile card, and toggle the Status from Active to Suspended. This instantly terminates their active mobile sessions.
