Installation & Device Pairing
Setting up Fami Hero is a quick, structured process. This guide covers how to install the apps on both the Parent and Child devices, link them using a secure 6-digit pairing code, and verify that the connection is active.
π Onboarding Flow Overviewβ
Linking devices requires physical access to both the Parent's phone and the Child's device. The entire process takes approximately 5 minutes.
π οΈ Step 1: Install the Appsβ
For the Parent (Supervisor)β
- Open the iOS App Store or Google Play Store.
- Search for Fami Hero.
- Download and install the app.
- Launch the app and sign in, or tap Get Started to register a new account.
For the Child (Supervised Device)β
- Open Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS) on your child's device.
- Search for Fami Hero Kids (Child App).
- Download and install the app.
- Launch the app. You will see a prompt to enter a pairing code.
π Step 2: Generate Pairing Code (Parent Phone)β
- Launch the Fami Hero Parent App and sign in.
- Navigate to the Dashboard or Menu tab.
- Tap the Add Child Device button.
- Fill in your child's basic profile details (Name, Birth Year, Avatar).
- Tap Generate Pairing Code.
- The app will display a unique 6-digit code (e.g.,
483-910).
[!NOTE] Pairing codes are extremely secure and expire automatically after 5 minutes. If the timer runs out, tap Regenerate Code on the parent app.

π² Step 3: Enter the Pairing Code (Child Device)β
- Bring the child device containing the freshly opened Fami Hero Kids app.
- Tap Pair with Parent.
- Carefully enter the 6-digit code displayed on the parent's device.
- Tap Confirm Connection.
- Wait for the loading animation to complete.

β Step 4: Verificationβ
Once pairing is successfully completed, you must check that both devices show an active connection.
Parent Device Verification:β
- Tap the Dashboard tab.
- You should see your child's newly created avatar and profile name.
- The device status badge will display Connected or Online.

Child Device Verification:β
- The Fami Hero Kids app will automatically transition from the "Pairing" screen to the Required Permissions Checklist screen.
π₯ 5. Managing Multiple Devices & Child Profilesβ
Fami Hero supports managing multiple child profiles and devices from a single Parent App.
Device Management:β
You can view, pair, and manage all connected child devices directly from the Menu:
- Tap the Menu tab in the Parent App.
- Tap Device management.
- Here you will see a list of all child profiles (e.g.,
FamiChild,Iso) along with their pairing status (e.g., Not Paired or active status). - To add another child device, tap the prominent blue + Add new device button at the bottom and follow the standard pairing code generation process.

Multi-child Profile Switching:β
Once multiple profiles are configured:
- Tap the Dashboard or Screen time tab.
- Look at the top bar for the current child's profile name.
- Tap the dropdown arrow next to the child's name to instantly switch between different child profiles. All rules, limits, and location histories will update to the selected child profile instantly.
