Home and Blocked Apps

This page explains what children see on the Home tab when limits or blocks are active.

Home Tab Overview

The Home tab can show:

  • Child profile header (name/avatar)
  • App Limits status
  • Always Blocked app list
  • Available During Downtime app list (when downtime is active)

If no limits are active, Home shows a simple no-limit state.

App Limits in Home

When limits are configured, Home shows usage against the daily limit.

  • Some setups show per-app limits.
  • Some setups show grouped/shared limits across multiple apps.
  • If a limit is exhausted, that app (or group) is blocked until approved extra time or next day reset.

Blocked-App Screen Reasons

When a child opens a blocked app, the app shows a full-screen block view with one of these reasons:

  • Pause for Fun: app limit reached
  • Sleepy Time: downtime is active
  • Screen-Free Time: parent triggered instant lock
  • Not Quite Ready: app is always blocked

What Children Can Do

  • For app-limit blocks: tap Ask for more time.
  • For other block types: return to allowed apps or wait until rules change.
  • During downtime, only allowed apps remain accessible.
