System Settings & Templates

The Fami Hero Admin Portal allows system administrators to manage global parameters, security policies, mobile app versions, and communications templates under the Settings and Email Templates modules. These configurations govern the core behavior, safety limits, and messaging pipelines across the platform.


⚙️ 1. Global System Settings

Route: /settings

The configuration panel exposes active runtime attributes and limits utilized by both the backend and mobile applications.

📱 1.1. App Configuration

  • Max Children per Account: The maximum number of child profiles that a single parent account is allowed to register.
  • Data Retention (days): The duration (in days) that historical activity logs, location history, and safety events are retained in the database before being automatically purged.
  • Max Safe Zones per Child: The limit on the number of geofenced safe/restricted areas that can be configured per child profile.

⏳ 1.2. Screen Time Limits

  • Default Limits by Age Group: Set the default daily screen-time allowance (in minutes/day) assigned to children based on their age bracket:
    • Ages 3-6 (e.g., 60 minutes)
    • Ages 7-12 (e.g., 120 minutes)
    • Ages 13-17 (e.g., 180 minutes)

🛡️ 1.3. Default Content Filters

  • Categories Enabled for New Accounts: Choose which web filtering categories are blocked automatically when a new child profile is created. These standard categories include:
    • Adult, Violence, Gambling, Drugs, Malware, Phishing, and Hate Speech.

🔒 1.4. Admin Security

  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Enforcement status for all administrative accounts to ensure high-security access.
  • Session Timeout: The inactivity duration (in minutes) after which an inactive administrative session is automatically logged out.

📲 1.5. App Versioning

Manage mandatory updates and version access for the iOS and Android mobile apps:

  • Latest Version: The current official release version of the mobile app (e.g., 1.0.0).
  • Minimum Required Version: The oldest mobile app version permitted to connect to the platform.
  • Force Update Toggle: When enabled, blocks any user running a version below the Minimum Required Version and directs them to the app store to update.

✉️ 2. Email Templates

Fami Hero administrators can customize the content, styling, and status of automatic system email communications dispatched to parents.

✉️ Supported Email Templates

Modify localized HTML and plain text email layouts for:

  • Parent Welcome Email: Sent upon parent registration, containing onboarding info and quick-start tips.
  • Weekly Engagement Report: A weekly usage metrics summary sent to parents with their child's statistics.
  • Password Reset Request: Standard template containing the secure recovery link to reset a forgotten parent account password.

⚙️ Template Features

  • Status Toggle: Temporarily disable or enable a specific email template from being dispatched by toggling its active status.
  • Dual Format Support: Customize both HTML (for rich email clients) and plain text (for standard fallback) formats.
  • Dynamic Placeholders: Use dynamic parameters (e.g., {{parent_name}}, {{child_name}}, {{device_name}}) to personalize each email automatically.
  • Live HTML Preview: View a real-time rendered preview of the customized HTML template before saving changes.
